Hi! Just discovered y’all; great site! My tip: I’m a composter, and I stretch my veggies as far as they’ll go before they hit the bin. As I’m trimming veggies (after rinsing), those ends, onion skins, tips of asparagus spears, ribs of greens, etc. that I will not be using in my dish are added to a large zip-loc bag that I keep in the freezer. When it’s time to make stock, I’ve got plenty of veggies. Once I strain them out of the stock, THEN they go into the compost bin (if I’ve made a chicken or beef stock, I remove that protein from the veggies before adding to the bin).

I do the same thing with stock. I made chicken stock yesterday and used my veggie trimmings, My sister Suz taught me to do that. Glad you found us. Continue sharing your tips.

When i got married for our first Thanksgiving i was trying to make deviled eggs. My boiled eggs were all sticking to the shell and not coming out whole as I wished. My husband started another pan of water to boiling and added salt, after the water started boiling he placed in 6 eggs and set the timer for 20 mins. After they cooled I peeled them and the eggs popped right out. I’ve done this ever since for perfect deviled eggs.

Thanks for the tip. I have put vinegar in the water and that helps too!
